The contribution of ZARIFOPOULOS to the development of airport infrastructure
ZARIFOPOULOS S.A. is involved in the construction project of the new wing of the Thessaloniki airport, in collaboration with INTRAKAT S.A. construction company for the supply of the addressable Fire Detection System. The Fire detection system is manufactured by the Italian firm Inim Electronics and meets all current European standards and norms.
This project, implemented by ‘BOBOTIS+BOBOTIS Architects’, is part of a much larger project aiming to develop the country’s air transport infrastructure and includes the upgrading of 14 regional airports: in Crete, mainland Greece, the Ionian Islands and the Aegean, by FRAPORT REGIONAL AIRPORTS OF GREECE, which has undertaken their operation, management, development and maintenance, through a Public contract.
Although this project is at an early stage, ZARIFOPOULOS, in collaboration with INTRAKAT, has already completed the installation of the Fire detection system at 8 airports (in Chania, Zakynthos, Kefalonia, Aktion, Skiathos, Mytilene, Kavala, Samos) while 5 other airports are well under way, nearing completion (in Mykonos, Corfu, Rhodes, Santorini and Kos).
The implementation team’s experience in complex and demanding projects, combined with the development of special applications and solutions, offers impressive results as regards the desired outcome.
